The Dutch OEL Subcommittee
The OEL subcommittee of the Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands (SER) is advising the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment on limit values for carcinogenic and mutagenic substances without threshold, within the framework of OEL-setting. The opinions of the OEL subcommittee are often based on a report of the Health Council of the Netherlands. The Health Council of the Netherlands publishes a report containing a health-based occupational exposure limit, prepared by the Dutch Expert Committee on Occupational Standards (DECOS). The health-based value is then evaluated by the OEL subcommittee for social and economical aspects and the technical feasibility. The result of this evaluating is presented as an advice to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment.
