The Dutch Occupational Hygiene Society (DOHS; in Dutch: Nederlandse Vereniging voor Arbeidshygi�ne, NVvA) is the professional association for occupational hygienists in the Netherlands.

DOHSBase Compare was first published in 1992 by the Working Group Limits and Methods of the Dutch Occupational Hygiene Society. The success (like the second version in 1994) made it desirable and possible to professionalize further issues. As this was not possible within the Dutch Occupational Hygiene Society, several members of the Working Group established the DOHSBASE BV as owner and publisher of the programme.
